West Somerset Railway TV was born in the spring of 2020 when the railway and most of the country was in lockdown, due to the COVID-19 virus. It was born out of a desire to keep railway supporters engaged and informed at a time when most people weren’t leaving home at all, except for the most essential trips.
The railway was put into a ‘care and maintenance’ mode and all was eerily quiet in West Somerset. A couple of WSRA Trustees came up with the idea of video communications and after discussions with partner organisations West Somerset Railway TV was born.
It’s very much a collaborative project, bringing together the skills, knowledge and memories of many people associated with the railway. WSR TV is hosted on YouTube where new videos are regularly released.
