The WSRA Trustees met on Monday 14th November at Williton and via TEAMS. Amongst the items discussed were:
- Minutes of the Previous meeting on 10 October were approved and have been placed in the members section of the website.
- BL Camping Coach 3668 – Trustees were pleased to note that the former BL camping coach had been successfully lifted down onto the tracks and collected for onward transmission to its new home in Wales.
- Trustee Portfolios – It was agreed that Alan Smithers and Denise Parker would become the Trustees leading on Safeguarding for the Association. Jeff Price was confirmed as the Trustee leading on the Conservation portfolio.
- Quantock Belle – Trustees noted that a draft one year hire agreement had gone to the PLC General Manager for consideration for 2023.
- Williton Goods Shed – Trustees agreed to support the DEPG in raising funds towards the restoration of this Grade 2 listed building. It was agreed that up to £20,000 could be used to match fund donations raised towards the roof, when the DEPG were ready to start their fundraising campaign.
- HRA Conference– Geoff Garfield reported that the HRA conference was attended by 4 representatives from the WSRA and 6 from the WSR PLC and some excellent networking opportunities were had.
- Camping Coach 3885 at Blue Anchor – A report with images presented by the Chair and GM was discussed. Trustees agreed to explore the possibility of retaining and restoring the carriage for volunteer accommodation. Chair and GM will progress this with the BA Station Master and others.
