The WSRA Trustees met on Tuesday 12th April at Bishops Lydeard and  via TEAMS.  Amongst the items discussed were:

  • Minutes of the Previous meeting – on 8th March were approved and are available for members to view in the members section of this website.
  • Diversity and Inclusion  – Trustees agreed to adopt the statement prepared by DRT and publish it in the members section of the website.  It would also be available to funders and other stakeholders.
  • Rolling stock – Trustees were pleased to note that hire agreements for 2022 had all now been agreed and signed. Discussions about arrangements for the longer term would now commence.
  • HRA Spring Conference – JSDG presented a very positive report of his attendance at the conference and of how the WSR united presence had been noted by the heritage movement.
  • Joint working – Trustees were pleased to note the positive outcomes from the joint meeting of WSRA Chairman and General Manager with the PLC Chairman and General Manager and the agreements for the 2 General Managers to meet frequently and work collaboratively together.
  • Grant Giving:-
    • Trustees noted that the new floor at Williton Station was completed and paid for.
    • Trustees noted that the additional ballast had been delivered to Bishops Lydeard station, courtesy of John Luffman and that station staff had used it to fill gaps in the public carpark
    • Trustees agreed to help fund fencing repairs to Crowcombe Heathfield Station by providing £1258 towards the costs, the balance would be paid by station funds
