The WSRA has purchased the original Washford East Ground Frame Sign for the railway.

The sign was purchased at auction by Rob Doidge who brought it to the WSR Spring Steam Gala where it was noticed by the Stations Lead Alan Smithers.

Alan then took steps to verify the authenticity of the sign, including through the WSRHT who confirmed that it was authentic. A grant application was then made to the WSRA and Trustees were pleased to agree to the request.

On Thursday 9th June at the WSR Sixties Diesel Gala the sign was formally purchased by the WSRA and handed over the the WSR Stations Lead.

Volunteers will now work on refurbishing the sign and in due course it will be restored to its rightful place at Washford Station.
