The WSRA Trustees met on Tuesday 8th February via TEAMS. Amongst the items discussed were:
- Minutes of the Previous meeting – on 11th January were approved and are available for members to view in the members section of this website.
- B&E Station Signs – Trustees were pleased to note that the castings are still expected to be delivered to Minehead by the end of February
- Rolling stock – Trustees confirmed the contents of the draft agreement to hire the Hawksworth Saloon to the Pontypool & Blaenavon Heritage Railway for an initial period of 3 years. They were pleased to confirm that the vehicle would be kept under cover when not running and that a programme of restoration and refurbishment would be undertaken. The Saloon was scheduled to be collected from Minehead on 14th February by the BHR’s haulier. ADDENDUM – departure of the saloon has been delayed for reasons beyond our control. It will happen as soon as possible.
- Working with WSR PLC – Trustees were pleased with the success of the initial tri-partite meeting and some time was spent discussing how the WSRA might contribute to the way forward for the WSR.
- Grant Giving – Trustees reviewed a grant application from the volunteer group restoring tender T2061 and were pleased to agree a funding package for shotblasting and resin work by an external contractor. WSRA will launch a fundraising campaign for half of the funds and match-fund the other half from general funds.
