The WSRA Trustees met on Monday 09 October in Williton.  There was an afternoon discussion to bring new Trustees up to speed  on business and the formal board meeting commenced at 17:30   Amongst the items discussed were: 

  • Trustee vacancies – Will foster was co-opted onto the board with immediate effect.  The chair will write to members regarding board changes as soon as possible. 
  • WSRA Steam Rally Trustees were pleased to note that visitor numbers had remained buoyant despite the adverse weather on the Saturday and that a healthy profit had been made for WSRA funds.  Trustees agreed to appoint Will Foster and John Glover as directors of the WSRA Steam Rally company. 
  • Membership – Trustees are concerned about the steady decline in membership and agreed to conduct a recruitment drive over the Christmas period, led by Edward Martin and John Leach with help from Denise Parker. 
  • Loco 4561 – There was some discussion around fundraising for the next phase of the restoration and how that might be achieved.  It was agreed to seek the advice of the fundraiser.
